We offer our 1-2-1 alcohol addiction programme which is a unique way of dealing with addiction, more effective than most conventional treatments. One of the major problems of alcoholism is the tendency for the patient to suffer a relapse, no matter how effective the original therapy has been.
Alcoholism is a diagnosable disease similar to other chronic recurring conditions such as asthma, hypertension or diabetes. These illnesses have strong physiological and behavioural components and can be identified with reliable diagnostic methods. They all show similar patterns of symptom control and relapse.
Patients who have undergone our 1-2-1 programmes have benefitted considerably from this informed and unprejudiced approach. From our follow-up studies we know that 67% of all patients who we treat overcome their addiction and are able to resume a more normal way of life. For all other patients, we provide on-going help and support which considerably mitigates the effect of their condition.
The 1-2-1 programme has the following stages:
Detox and maintenance utilising autogenic training. This is a brain directed therapy that rebalances the autonmic nervous system. It encourages relaxation and stress management through the release of endorphins and the balancing of adrenaline.
We then move to cognitive behavioural and dynamic coaching. This looks at the ABC's of addiction, its phyiological and psychological effects. With this understanding we can to enable the patient to formulate a meaningful life plan.
This therapy can be organised either as a series of sessions that can be managed within the patient's working schedule or, in more serious cases, can be provided as an intensive seven day programme.
In either of these cases, we provide a year long support programme including regular medical check-ups, reinforcement of training and regular replanning and adjusting of the life plan.
Don't forget you can always send us an email if you are not sure whether you need help or not.
